IREB: An organisation and its history
Founded in 2006, the non-profit organisation IREB is a globally recognised expert body for the personal certification of professionals in the field of requirements engineering (RE). Its members are independent and internationally recognised specialists from industry, consulting, research and teaching. The aim of the organisation is to build RE on a professional foundation and thus to give the field a profile and status that corresponds to its added value. The certification concept "Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering" (CPRE) was developed for this purpose.
Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering
The certification concept is aimed at people who work in the field of business analysis, requirements engineering or testing and who have high expectations of the quality of their work. In order to obtain a corresponding certificate for each of the three levels, which build on each other, three levels of further training must be successfully completed. Depending on how many employees achieve these certificates (and also with which level), the respective companies can receive quality seals with the qualifications silver, gold or platinum. Requirements engineering at COViS
Experience in agile projects has shown that it is important for both consultants and developers to have a solid knowledge of requirements engineering in order to create a stable basis for projects. Therefore, COViS GmbH has decided to train its employees in the area of delivery (consulting and development) in requirements engineering. The IREB certification ensures that this discipline is realised at the highest level of quality. The services according to IREB requirements include the determination, analysis, specification and validation of all relevant properties and framework conditions of the software system.
