From OpenShift Container Platform projects to Linux 2.0 and Microsoft Azure. As an IT specialist trainee for system integration, Tobias has been gaining valuable practical experience at COViS since day one.
What exactly do you do at COViS and since when?
I've been with COViS for almost 3 years and after finishing my apprenticeship in February I am working as a systemadmin linux in the IT Operations department, where we manage various services for our customers and COViS ourselves and keep them "online"
Why did you choose COViS?
I really liked the challenges of a "smaller" IT house! For family reasons, I've often been to the Düsseldorf-Heerdt area and took a closer look at some IT companies, including COViS.
Do you have a tip for a smooth application process?
Go into this process with passion. However, you should just be yourself during a conversation!
What does a normal working day look like for you?
Being an early riser means I have the benefit of flextime and can start quite early. I work on my tasks and/or take part in team meetings. I like to use my lunch break when I'm in the office to chat with my colleagues.
What kind of projects are you working on right now?
I am currently working on the OCP (OpenShift Container Platform) and the Linux 2.0 project. Smaller projects such as a SharePoint site for trainees make everyday work more diverse.
How did your colleagues welcome you?
Excellent! COViS has very nice and helpful employees. You always have a contact person if you have questions about a specific topic.
What should an applicant bring to work at COViS?
Personal initiative and team spirit are welcome qualities.
Do you have opportunities for further education?
Yes, and I have already successfully taken one of them. I have completed a certification in Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) and am already planning the next certificates.
What framework conditions are created so that the employees feel comfortable?
The working atmosphere in the office is very relaxed and is further supported by pictures on the wall or plants in the office. In addition, the people in the company are very diverse and open.
Do you still have time for leisure activities?
Yes, and I think that's also important for a good equalizer.
What would you like to have known before starting your job?
How relaxed the flextime arrangement can be for me.
What are your visions for your professional future at COViS?
After finishing my apprenticeship now, i would like to carry out my desired activities at COViS in the field of IT operations.
Have your expectations been met?
Yes, I have acquired a lot of knowledge through COViS and have already been able to test it on practical examples.
Here you can find all the available job offers, but you are still welcome to apply proactively.
